Position Overview
The Immigration Clerk role will work within our Immigration practice where our team helps successful multinational private and public companies, entrepreneurs and start-ups, and individuals and families around the world. This role is responsible for assisting attorneys with servicing their clients, with a particular focus on the preparation of applications, drafting forms, and related support with the administration of immigration processes for both individuals and businesses.
For New York, the expected hourly range for this position is between $32 to $37. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. This role is deemed hybrid and expected to be in the office 3 days a week.
The Role
- Draft immigration applications, petitions, and supporting materials, including case narratives, forms, and evidentiary documents.
- Assist attorneys by preparing first drafts of application materials, personal statements, and support letters, adapting templates as needed.
- Review client information and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across filings.
- Coordinate with attorneys and internal team members to gather required details and keep cases moving forward.
- Track key deadlines and monitor case progress to support timely filings.
- Conduct basic research to support application content and ensure alignment with immigration requirements.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in materials and flag them for attorney review.
- Produce clear, well-structured written work in a fast-paced environment using firm systems.
- Support general case management and administrative tasks, including file organization and document management.

Key Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic writing experience preferred (e.g., humanities, social sciences, law-related fields).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working independently while supporting a broader team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Interest in immigration work, legal writing, or case development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
