We often act in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes of all kinds and we represent a broad range of domestic and international clients, from individuals to major brands and large corporations. Our specialist expertise includes: banking litigation, contract and company disputes, tech disputes, fraud and asset recovery, family law, contentious probate, criminal litigation and investigations, insurance, professional negligence, employment law, restructuring and insolvency.

Our well-established and highly regarded team of Knowledge Lawyers across Europe, Asia and the US work alongside colleagues in the Library and Knowledge Services team to ensure that our lawyers have access to the knowledge and information they need to deliver the best possible service to our clients. This will be a new role in the Knowledge Lawyer team within the global Dispute Resolution division.
What are we looking for?
We are looking to hire a part-time or full-time Knowledge Lawyer to join the Withers Singapore Dispute Resolution team. The ideal candidate will have experience with international commercial litigation and specialist dispute practices such as Family, Employment, White collar and Restructuring and Insolvency. The role will at times be demanding and fast paced so you will need to be an efficient worker who can prioritise, multi-task, and remain poised under pressure.
Areas of focus and responsibilities
The role is focused on supporting an exceptional group of lawyers. The role will involve:
- Planning and organising the education and training programme, including identifying topics, preparing materials, sourcing external speakers, chairing training sessions and delivering training
- Assessing and implementing new technology solutions as may be relevant to dispute work, including active involvement in testing, implementation and promotion
- Keeping our lawyers up to date with the key developments in the fields of commercial litigation and our specialist dispute practices by means of internal news alerts, bulletins and update sessions
- Revising and updating of existing precedents and guidance notes and adding them into the firm’s knowledge management system
- Sourcing and encouraging fee-earners to contribute know-how and precedent materials, reviewing contributions and adding them to the firm’s knowhow system; generating knowhow where none already exists
- Providing advice and guidance on specific points of law and procedure and assisting fee-earners on research on more complex topics
- Working with risk and compliance to maintain procedures and documentation

Skills and Experience
- 8 – 10 years PQE in the fields of international commercial litigation with experience of specialist practices such as Family, Employment, White collar and Restructuring and Insolvency.
- Preference is for an experienced Knowledge Lawyer but we are open to someone transitioning to the role for the first time from a fee earning position
- Singapore qualified
- Strong academic background
- Excellent organisation skills, high work standards and detail-oriented
- First class communication and project management skills
- Research skills (using hard and soft source materials), including proficient use of journals, commercial alerting/reporting services
- Keen interest in training and familiarity with digital media and online training
- Proactive in seeking out thought-leadership ideas to improve ways of working
- Ability to develop strong working relationships: must demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills to build confidence, trust and respect amongst the team and the ability to work with people at all levels and in different jurisdictions
- A team player, proactive and able to work on own initiative.
